This workshop is for CEOs, Presidents, Director Generals and other senior managers of international and multinational organizations and for ministers and other very senior government officials.

Leadership of change is a high priority skill in our fast changing environment. Leaders succeed through the efforts of others. The test of leadership is “followership,” and credibility is the foundation of leadership. Unfortunately, there is no school to prepare most senior officials, except the school of experience. They must learn on the job how to lead the process of organizational change, and they must learn while every stakeholder is watching.

The learning agenda of the workshop is defined based on the organizational diagnosis conducted by MoDA® and is individualized with support from personality typology data provided by the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the feedback provided to every participant by the Inventory of Practices in Leading Change (IPLC.) The IPLC is a 360° feedback instrument developed by MoDA® that helps participants to determine what kind of model they are perceived to follow in leading change: the prescriptive model, the change by exclusion model, or the change by inclusion-participatory model.

The workshop gives participants a set of skills and attitudes that allow them to succeed as promoters of change. Participants learn how to: a) be the inspirational advocates of a convincing organizational vision; b) manage the strategy implementation efforts; c) build relationships with subordinates inside the organization and with significant others outside the organization in such a way that they could own the vision and feel committed to the implementation of the strategy.

Significant emphasis is placed on aligning behaviors with statements of value. The workshop helps participants to deal with resistance by recognizing the ways individuals commit themselves to change and identifying the motives that prompt them to resist. As a result of the workshop, participants understand that “people do not resist change; they resist being changed. If it is done to them, they are going to resist. If it is done by them, they are going to make it happen.”

Usually, the workshop is a five-day residential activity. The ratio of facilitators to participants is 1:4, to allow for intensive work on influencing skills laboratories with support from the TV.
